The core panel of OSB Firestop is OSB 3 board in accordance with the EN 300 standard, which is defined as the load-bearing board used in humid conditions. OSB 3 is treated on one or both sides with a fire-resistant, patented Pyrotite® surface finish. Unlike traditional wood-based boards, OSB Firestop has a better rating for evaluating reactions to fire. According to the European classification (EN 13501-1), it corresponds to class B-s1, d0. Pyrotite® surface finish consists of magnesium oxide cement reinforced with glass fiber mesh. This surface finish is firmly bonded to the core OSB board without cracks or delamination. Cement-based surface finishing increases the fire resistance on all sides of the OSB board, limiting the spread of flame on the OSB surface and thus significantly reducing the spread of building fire.
